Did you know that 6 in 10 Americans own some type of pet? Also, according to ASPCA, there are 78 million dog owners and nearly 86 million cat owners.
Established in 2016, RTG Medical’s Community Partnership Program is an employee-driven effort to support local nonprofits that align with our company’s values. Leadership at RTG conducted a survey to poll employees on what they were passionate about and out of that survey came three categories: adoptable animals, veterans and the youth of our community. With our first initiative, adoptable animals, one of the organizations we partner with is the Nebraska Humane Society (NHS).
“My dog Maci is my best friend she loves to cuddle and is always so excited when I get home,” said Jenni Lundy, Senior Recruiter at RTG.
According to their website, the Nebraska Humane Society was founded in 1875. It is the fifth oldest humane society in the nation, and, today, is also one of the largest. They offer shelter to animals who have no place to call home and provide vital services to them and to the people who love them. Every year, more than 30,000 animals, including wildlife, find their way through NHS’s doors. Through their programs, they touch the lives of more than 200,000 people annually with their message of compassion and humane treatment for all living creatures. NHS is housed on a 13-acre campus with four buildings, 150 dedicated staff members, and 600 volunteers.
Jamie Haith, Senior Recruiter at RTG added, “I love working with the animal rescue groups we partner with because I have been a big rescue advocate my whole life. I personally have welcomed several small and large animals that have needed a new home. Cats, dogs, and horses… you name it. I love it!”
“NHS so appreciates our community partners. As a nonprofit organization, we rely on the compassion of companies like RTG Medical, who go the extra mile to help homeless animals,” Pam Wiese, Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing at the Nebraska Humane Society said. “We send RTG a big round of ‘appaws’ for taking the time to gather items and bring comfort and joy to homeless pets.”
