The Benefits of Being a Traveling Healthcare Professional

Airplane CabinSeeing new places, experiencing new communities, meeting new people — no wonder so many people travel for pleasure. But there are people who get to do all these things as part of making a living, and they’re just a few of the benefits enjoyed by traveling healthcare professionals every day.

Great Compensation

RTG ensures that its traveling professionals are paid weekly, correctly and on time. Our staffing specialists work to create a premium pay package that works best for the individual and rewards them for hard work and dedication. Per diem allowances, private housing or housing stipends, travel allowances, and rentals cars are all part of the competitive compensation package that ensures traveling employees have everything they need to be comfortable at every assignment in any location.

Plus, with an eye to long-term needs, there’s medical, dental, and life insurance; a company matching 401(k) program; licensure or certification reimbursement; and continuing education assistance.

Personalized Service

RTG provides a single point of contact, a staffing specialist who will ensure a smooth path for the individual. This includes negotiating pay packages, setting up housing and travel; processing payroll, and managing conflict resolution (we even offer a 24-hour emergency call line if unexpected problems arise).

Power of Choice

Traveling professionals can work in a variety of communities and healthcare facilities that fit their personal preferences. Most RTG traveling professionals choose to drive to their assignments in a personal vehicle under a mileage reimbursement program or sometimes a weekly car subsidy, but air travel and rental car arrangements are possible with certain assignments.

Registering with RTG does not obligate any professional to accept assignments offered, though. The staffing specialist will discuss every potential assignment up front so the individual can make an informed decision on whether or not the assignment is a good match for his or her skill set and availability. Because the staffing specialist and traveling medical professional have an ongoing relationship, the best possible matches can be offered.

Busy Busy Busy

RTG is dedicated to negotiating facility contracts that guarantee its professionals full-time employment or expanded hours (48 or more per week) if that’s what the individual wants. And sometimes the assignment works out so well that a permanent offer is extended, and that’s okay with us! The staffing specialist will assist with the placement process and help out during the negotiation process to secure lucrative, permanent employment.
