All About the Staffing Specialist

Doctor. Traveling Healthcare professional. Staffing specialist. When a healthcare professional looking for traveling placement first contacts RTG Medical, he or she will connect with a staffing specialist for the first time — and thus begins a relationship that extends throughout his or her career with us. The staffing specialist not only facilitates the process of your placement, but as one RTG traveler phrased it on an online message board, “Your recruiter is your lifeline.”

More than a recruiter

You might have noticed that we usually say “staffing specialist,” although in the industry many people say “recruiter.” Sometimes we do, too, but the reason we prefer this particular terminology is to reflect the fact that this person’s role extends way past simply bringing you on board. Your assigned staffing specialist will serve as your ongoing single point of contact, which creates a streamlined and efficient process from the time you submit your profile to the moment when you officially accept a placement. The staffing specialist’s responsibilities include negotiating pay packages, housing and travel arrangements. And you will continue to work with this person after placement, too, for payroll processing, conflict resolution and more.

There for you no matter what

RTG Medical normal business hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Central time), but what happens if you need assistance after hours? Well, just like hospitals and many other medical facilities have 24-hour operations, we make sure a recruiter is on call between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m., to ensure someone is always there for you when you need them.

Part of the solution

In most situations, employees who have a job-related problem, question or complaint should first discuss it with their staffing specialist or immediate supervisor. At this level, employees and customers usually reach a satisfactory solution. However, if the problem or issue is not resolved at this level or the employee is not comfortable discussing the issue with his/her supervisor, you or your staffing specialist can always contact a member of the executive staff.

People are our only asset
Our reputation is only as good as our people, and we strive to find the best people and provide them with the best tools available to do their job. As a traveling medical professional, one of the assets available to you is your assigned staffing specialist. They look forward to building a relationship with you and meeting any challenges together. To make the connection, all you have to do is contact the  RTG Medical team. We’ll be happy to answer your questions and tell you all about the opportunities available to you.
